Alzheimer’s Advocates Make an Impression at the Capitol

Misty Sasser, activities director of The Palms at Langdale Place, joined the Alzheimer’s Association at the Capitol in recognition of Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day on Friday, February 17.  Misty along with other concerned Georgia citizens, met with state legislators to request their support on bills related to Alzheimer’s awareness, research funding and care-giver support.  According to the Alzheimer’s Association, there are more than 120,000 known Georgia residents who have been diagnosed with this disease.  However, the Association believes the true number to be somewhere near 200,000 people because there is no test to determine a diagnosis.  The Palms at Langdale Place provides a secure living environment for those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer ’s disease.  This facility offers specialty care and a safe place for its residents to maintain an excellent quality of life.  For information on The Palms at Langdale Place contact Misty Sasser at 229-247-4300 or visit for information on The Alzheimer’s Association.
